Learn-to-Row
Our Learn-to-Row program is for anyone interested in getting involved in rowing for sport or recreation with no previous rowing experience!
The program typically consists of six 2-hour sessions (12 hours total), designed to introduce you to the sport of rowing in a relaxing and fun way. New rowers are instructed in the basics of rowing technique and they learn to work together as a crew to balance and move boats of various sizes. Skills are developed to enable entry into our Adult and Youth programs. Prerequisites: Each participant is required to carry their portion of the rowing shell. After all, this is considered a team sport! This can involve lifting up to 40 pounds. Don’t worry, the coach helps too! COVID-19 Update: Please note that due to COVID-19 our spring 2021 Learn-To-Row program will be providing instruction using singles or household doubles only. Group sizes and boat class will be subject to change in accordance with current Public Health Orders and Rowing BC recommendations. We invite you to view our FAQ page for answers to our most common questions. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds once the program has begun. We are a non-profit organization and incur time, effort and financial costs to run the club and its programs. Prices and schedules are subject to change. |
CLASS SCHEDULE
Spring 2021 Learn-To-Row sessions will begin mid-April.
Dates and times are subject to change due to the number of registrants received for a time slot. We will work hard to find a time that is suitable for you! In some situations we may combine adult and youth participants together. Please check the schedule regularly as times are added as the season progresses and spaces are filled.
