Coaching and camp leader positions

We're currently accepting applications for rowing coaches and safety boat drivers for our busy spring and summer season. This is great opportunity to gain coaching and leadership experience.

Rowing coach / safety boat driver
We’re seeking rowing coaches and safety boat drivers to join our club during the busy spring and summer months. These are temporary positions with flexible hours and an opportunity to gain leadership and coaching experience. 
​

 Responsibilities
  • Operate the safety boat and instruct recreational and/or novice rowers both on and off the water. 
  • Assist with and/or instruct learn-to-row sessions.
  • Ensure rowers adhere to safety guidelines on and off the water
  • Follow the direction of our head coach and Board Members. 
  • Maintain respectful and professional communication with all club members.
  • Adhere to the Inlet Rowing Club Code of Conduct and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Enjoyment and passion for rowing and being on the water.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Previous rowing and coaching experience.
  • Completion of Rowing Canada (RCA) Every Coach Certified eLearning Modules (if not already completed, commitment to complete within 90 days of hire)
  • Pleasure Craft Operators License (or equivalent)
  • Standard First Aid
Assets
  •  Experience coaching and working with adults of all ages and skill levels.
Additional information
  • You’ll be required to complete a criminal background check and Rowing Canada’s online Safe Sport Training before commencing work.
  • Time commitment is approximately 10-20 hours per week (hours are flexible and dependent on program times) during the spring and summer months
  • ​ $17.50-$22 / hour depending on experience.
